Branching Out

My Photos

I bought my first digital camera a couple of years ago. It's a good camera (a Canon S3 IS) - I can still just point-and-shoot but it also gives me the opportunity to learn a bit more about photography. The only downside is that I don't tend to show my family and friends my holiday, party or whatever snaps. I've lost the habit of taking them home to show off the sights. So I intend to keep the latest ones up here and see how that goes.

Washington Snowmaggedon February 2010

Girona and Garrotxa Territory, July 2009

Edinburgh Haar, June 2009

....does funny things to streetlights.

Seville, November 2008

I took off to Seville for a long weekend, chilled out, saw some of the sights, enjoyed the wine and tapas and marvelled at that great big yellow ball in the sky.

Linkylea Music Festival, August 2008

The debut of Trip Hazard (aka Alison, Gina, Kevin, Cathy, Jed and Jackie)!

Killin, July 2008

Myself, Dave and John took a long weekend in Killin (west end of Loch Tay) and did a 30mile or so cycle trip through Glen Lyon - and still had enough energy (with slight hangover) to go on a wander up Schiehallion the following day.

Porto, May 2008

Headed to Porto with Niall and Jo for the May Bank Holiday weekend, caught up with my friends Miguel and Monica, saw the sights and sampled a glass or two of Port.

Berlin, Barcelona, Granada and the Sierra Nevada - October & November 2007

I went Granada and the Sierra Nevada in early November last year with my brother Niall (again :-). Had a fantastic time - met some great people, chilled out and did some walking in 20degC and sunshine every day (I live in Edinburgh so that's a real novelty for me).

Just before the trip to Spain I headed over to Berlin catch up with my friend, Andy, who was studying in the city at the time. Spent a nice couple of days relaxing, catching up and taking in some of Berlin.

Cyprus - October 2006

With a bit of holiday time to use up, myself and Niall headed to Cyprus for a week - the highlight of which had to be the walk through and then along the side of Akamas Gorge. The photos don't really do it justice.

Pitlochry and Loch Rannoch - September 2006

Shortly after buying the camera I headed up to Pitlochry for the weekend and biked about - taking in the Highland Games in the town and Loch Rannoch. The weather all weekend was beautiful, as the pictures show.
